2027: “Insults Won’t Remove Tinubu” – Ubi Franklin

Nigerian music executive and Davido’s close friend, Ubi Franklin, has sparked reactions online after boldly declaring that President Bola Tinubu is going nowhere, despite growing opposition and public criticism.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Ubi said insulting Tinubu will not change anything, and those hoping to remove him in 2027 are wasting their time. He said that many people refuse to recognize the achievements of the president and are instead busy spreading emotional messages online.

Ubi also took a swipe at opposition politicians and social media users. He said, “They insulted Buhari for 8 years and he still completed his term. Insults don’t remove presidents. If you want change, enter politics. Stop hiding behind social media likes.”

His comments attracted a lot of attention, with many Nigerians reacting. Some accused Ubi of trying to gain favor from Tinubu or looking for a political appointment. One critic wrote, “With all the people you allegedly owe and kids everywhere, I’m not surprised you’d defend even Satan.” But Ubi responded calmly, saying he is proud of his children and admits to having had business struggles.

Ubi also addressed the backlash he received for recently visiting President Tinubu in Abuja with Davido and Cubana Chiefpriest. The pictures from the meeting had gone viral, leading to more criticism online. But Ubi stood his ground, saying people should focus on the real issues in governance rather than attacking him.

While some social media users praised him for being honest and courageous, others believed he was defending power for personal gain. One user wrote, “Ubi just submitted his CV to APC,” while another added, “He’s saying the truth, Twitter is not INEC.”

Despite the controversy, Ubi Franklin made it clear he believes that President Tinubu will not be unseated in 2027, and that social media rants are not enough to bring political change.
