Posted on July 15, 2025

Senator Dino Melaye, who served as the representative for the Kogi West Senatorial District from 2015 to 2019, made a bold statement regarding the political landscape in Nigeria during a recent gathering to unveil African Development Congress, ADC in Kogi state.

Although the event was later postponed following the demise and mourning of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, Melaye however emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “The turnout you see today is just the introduction.”

He indicated that the gathering to unveil ADC marked the beginning of a new chapter in Kogi State’s political history, hinting at a formal unveiling of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state.

Melaye expressed confidence in the ADC’s potential to reshape the political dynamics of Nigeria, declaring, “Even the handwriting on the wall is clear to the blind that the days of the APC in political governance in Nigeria are over. The party to liberate Nigerians is here; ADC is the answer.”

Melaye’s remarks come at a time of significant political transition, as many citizens are eager for change in leadership and governance. He urged those present to keep a close watch on the ADC, suggesting that the party is poised to bring about the transformation that Nigerians have been longing for.

In his address, Melaye also reflected on the legacy left by President Buhari, acknowledging the mourning period while simultaneously rallying support for the ADC. He portrayed the party as a beacon of hope for the disenfranchised, asserting that it is ready to address the myriad challenges facing the nation.

As the political climate in Nigeria continues to evolve, Melaye’s statements underscore the growing momentum behind the ADC and its emergence as a formidable alternative to the ruling APC. With the formal unveiling of the ADC in Kogi State on the horizon, many will be watching closely to see how this development influences the future of political governance in Nigeria.
