A former governor has tied the knot with his fourth wife in a private ceremony held in Abuja.
The intimate wedding, which took place on Saturday in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory, was attended by close family members and friends.
Yahaya Bello, the former Kogi State Governor, welcomed Hiqma as his new wife, expanding his family with three existing wives: Amina Oyiza Bello, Rashida Yahaya Bello, and Hafiza Bello. His third wife, Hafiza, confirmed the marriage via an Instagram post, extending a warm welcome to the newest family member. She wrote, “Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving! A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello! May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin”.
As a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bello served as Kogi State Governor from 2016 to 2023, earning recognition as Nigeria’s youngest sitting governor during his tenure. He holds a BSc and MSc in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. The former governor has kept his personal life relatively private, but this recent development marks a new chapter in his family’s story.¹
