Deji Adeyanju Critiques Relying on Coalition’s ADC as False Hope in 2027 Election

Posted on July 27, 2025

Human rights lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has expressed disappointment regarding the coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) aimed at challenging President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections.

Adeyanju, who initially welcomed the coalition’s formation, stated that his enthusiasm has since waned, emphasizing that he refuses to entertain what he calls “false hope.”

In his analysis, Adeyanju highlighted that Former President Goodluck Jonathan stands out as the only viable candidate from the southern region, possessing the political clout necessary to potentially defeat President Tinubu, who represents the All Progressives Congress.

This assertion underscores the critical need for a strong contender as the political landscape evolves ahead of the next presidential election.
