Following the just-concluded Chairmanship election of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, the results are as follows:
Nsibiet John – 556 votes
Nene Affia – 92 votes

Effiong Edet – 21 votes
Esther Effiong – 4 votes
With an overwhelming majority, Comrade Nsibiet John has emerged victorious and is now officially elected as the Chairman of the NUJ, Akwa Ibom State Council.
Margerate Moore emerged the new Vice Chairman while, Comrade Nsikak Esenowo emerged new Secretary of the union.
Other positions including Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Assistant Secretary were returned unopposed.
