Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has signed a two-year contract with French giants Paris Saint-Germain Féminine after leaving Spanish club Atlético de Madrid.
The 25-year-old forward joined PSG as a free agent following the end of her spell with Atlético, where she had played since 2021. PSG confirmed the signing on Tuesday morning, stating that the deal will run until June 30, 2027, with an option to extend.
“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the arrival of Nigerian striker Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, who has joined the club on a deal that runs until 30th June 2027,” the club said in a statement.
Ajibade, who currently captains Nigeria’s women’s national team, expressed her excitement about the move. “I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe. This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere,” she said.
Before her time in Spain, Ajibade played in Norway with Avaldsnes IL, where she developed a reputation as a versatile and hardworking forward. Her move to PSG marks a significant milestone in her career as she looks to compete at the highest level of European football.
With this signing, PSG strengthens their attacking options as they continue their push for domestic and continental success.
