Northern NNPP Stakeholder Says Tinubu Is Unbeatable in 2027

Abdulmumin Jibrin, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constituency of Kano State under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has expressed strong confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s chances for re-election in 2027.

Speaking on Channels Television’s political program, Politics Today, Jibrin asserted that nothing will hinder Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

“I firmly believe that nothing can stop him from winning the upcoming elections,” Jibrin declared. “I identify as a Tinubu supporter. He appreciates our relationship, and despite party lines, we have maintained a positive connection.”

As a long-time ally of the president, Jibrin dismissed claims regarding Tinubu’s lack of support in northern Nigeria, labeling such ideas as politically hazardous. “Tinubu is not isolated in the north; he has a network of supporters there,” he stated. “While there may be dissenting voices, there are also many who back him. It would be a miscalculation to assume he has no support in the northern region.”

Jibrin noted that although there is opposition to the president, he continues to have substantial backing throughout the north. He anticipates that as the political landscape evolves leading up to the 2027 elections, more supporters will publicly express their allegiance.

Furthermore, the lawmaker challenged the notion that the North has been politically marginalized, arguing that the region has held power longer than its southern counterparts. He encouraged northern politicians and interest groups to acknowledge the situation and refrain from undermining their own representatives.
