United States President Donald Trump has reacted to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, describing the war as a tragic loss of life. In a social media post, Trump remarked, “What a shame, and a waste of human life,” as he addressed the tension in the Middle East, particularly calling on civilians in Tehran to evacuate immediately.
The conflict intensified on Friday, June 13, 2025, when Israeli forces launched a series of attacks on Iran following a breakdown in nuclear negotiations and growing concerns over Iran’s refusal to cooperate with international inspectors. Explosions were reported in Tehran, and major airports were shut down as panic spread among civilians.
Reports confirmed that top Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists were killed in the Israeli strikes. In response, Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles at Israeli territory, raising fears of a full-scale regional war. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, vowed a harsh retaliation, warning Israel of a “bitter and painful” outcome.
Trump, who previously warned Iran against pursuing nuclear weapons, said the country had refused to sign the nuclear agreement he advised them to accept. According to his statement, Iran’s leaders chose a path of war instead of diplomacy, which he believes has only brought unnecessary suffering to their people.
Reiterating his firm stance, Trump added, “Iran CANNOT have a nuclear weapon. I said it over and over again!” He urged everyone in Tehran to leave the city immediately, citing security concerns and the worsening crisis.
