The suspended Rivers State Governor, Similaye Fubara has vowed to do everything within his power to sustain the peace and agreements reached at the peace meeting hosted by President Bola Tinubu between himself and his predecessor Barr. Nyesom Wike.
In a brief interview with newsmen shortly after the the meeting at ASO Rock, Fubara who spoke shortly after Wike had spoken said that leaders of the state have met and reached a peace accord, pledging to go extra mile to ensure peace is sustained in the state.
In his words “the most important thing for me is for peace to return to Rivers State. The leaders of Rivers State have met and we have all agreed that peace should return to the state. I want to thank the President for making this to happen and we will do everything within our power to sustain the peace this time”.
Earlier, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike expressed his delight over the peace meeting between him and his political godson. He announced that all acrimony has ended declaring the return of total peace in the state.
“In life we all make mistakes, and we come together and also correct our mistakes. I thank the President for mediating this peace, everything is over now, peace has returned to Rivers State and I want to declare that all acrimony is over, we are now one family”.
Speaking further Wike extended a hand of fellowship to all Rivers stakeholders calling them to come together to build the state as there are no more factions or problems.
