Nigerian football has been just by yet another tragedy and thrown into mourning and great loss to the nation.
This is as former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu, has sadly passed away at the age of 74. He died earlier today, although the circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear at this time.

In a twist of fate, false reports of Chukwu’s death had circulated widely in 2021, prompting the legendary coach to address the rumors during his 70th birthday celebration on January 4, 2021. At that time, Chukwu expressed his shock, stating, “I am terribly embarrassed with this news that I am dead. Several people have been calling me from across the world since the news broke. I am still investigating the source of the story.”
Affectionately known as “Chairman,” Chukwu was a pivotal figure in Nigerian football, having made significant contributions as both a player and a coach. His legacy in the sport will always be remembered.
We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
