Dangote Refinery Offers Free Fuel Delivery and Credit Facility for Bulk Petrol Buyers

The initiative targets marketers, manufacturers, telecoms, aviation companies, and other key sectors, aiming to reduce fuel delivery costs, enhance access across the country, and boost economic activities.

The Dangote Refinery, situated in Lekki, Lagos, is Africa’s largest oil refinery and a major project under the Dangote Group, led by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote. With an estimated cost of $20 billion, the refinery is expected to significantly reduce Nigeria’s reliance on fuel imports, stabilize local prices, and improve the nation’s energy infrastructure.

As part of this distribution project, the refinery has invested in 4,000 brand-new tankers powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to ensure efficient and eco-friendly delivery of fuel across Nigeria. The scheme also includes the establishment of CNG booster stations, supported by a nationwide fleet of over 100 CNG tankers, to enhance fuel accessibility in urban and remote areas. According to the company, registration for participants begins on June 16 and ends on August 15, 2025, with Know Your Customer (KYC) processes included.

To further support businesses, the Dangote Refinery is introducing a credit facility for large customers. Buyers who purchase at least 500,000 litres of fuel will be eligible to receive an additional 500,000 litres on credit, valid for two weeks, with a bank guarantee. This plan is designed to ease financial pressure on businesses, particularly in critical sectors like manufacturing and telecommunications, which will benefit from lower fuel costs and improved logistics.

Dangote Group noted that this initiative is part of its commitment to economic revitalization, aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The project is expected to revive dormant petrol stations, create jobs, support SMEs, and increase government revenue.

Speaking on the program, Dangote described it as a “pioneering effort” aimed at ensuring equitable access to affordable fuel for all Nigerians. He also hinted at an upcoming “major shakedown” in the downstream oil sector that will restructure the industry and further improve fuel supply systems nationwide.
