A social media personality, VDM (Very Dark Man), has expressed outrage over the services of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) and the challenges his mother is facing with her account.
According to VDM, his mother, a salary earner, had almost her entire salary deducted by GTBank due to an alleged loan obtained using her Bank Verification Number (BVN).
The Issue
VDM explained that his sister informed him about their mother’s unusual sadness despite receiving her salary. Upon investigation, they discovered that GTBank had deducted a significant portion of her salary, leaving her with only N3,000. The bank claimed that someone had used her BVN to obtain a loan, and despite her multiple visits to the bank to lodge complaints, the issue remained unresolved.
VDM’s Demands
VDM has taken it upon himself to follow up on the matter and has demanded that GTBank:
- Provide the identity of the person who used his mother’s BVN to borrow money
- Refund all the deducted funds
Concerns About GTBank’s Systems
VDM revealed that he had always avoided using GTBank due to their porous systems. He even advised his mother to consider changing her salary payment bank to avoid further issues.
Impact on His Mother
VDM shared that he had previously encouraged his mother to quit working due to the challenges she faced, but her passion for teaching kept her going back to work. Now, he’s taking matters into his own hands, vowing to ensure that GTBank rectifies the situation.
