The wife appeared to shove her husband in the face before he descended from the plane, prompting a brief step back allegedly for peace making. However, he quickly composed himself and waved to cameras at the foot of the aircraft stairs. The Presidential couple then exited the plane together, maintaining a united front.

Details surrounding the incident suggest it was merely a lighthearted moment between the couple. According to a government official, “It was a moment when the president and his wife were relaxing one last time before the start of the trip by having a laugh.” The official further described the moment as “a moment of closeness”.

The couple in question is French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron, who have been married since 2007. This incident occurred at the start of their Southeast Asia tour, with President Macron aiming to boost France’s influence in Vietnam, a former French colony.
