Neveah Group Launches Aluminium & Copper Recycling Plant in Ogun State, Projects $150 Million in Annual Exports

Posted on July 1, 2025

In a strategic move to strengthen Nigeria’s non-oil export base, Neveah Limited has officially commenced operations at its ultra-modern aluminium and copper recycling plant in Ogun State. The facility, with a production capacity of over 44,000 metric tons annually, is expected to generate upwards of $150 million in export revenues each year.

A New Benchmark for Nigeria’s Non-Oil Export Drive

The recycling plant has already completed its inaugural production run, delivering aluminum ingots with an impressive purity level of 85.1%. This high-grade output signals Neveah’s readiness to supply premium-quality recycled metals that comfortably meet and even exceed rigorous international standards.

Leveraging advanced processing technology, Neveah ensures each ingot aligns with global benchmarks, giving the company a competitive edge in international markets and reinforcing Nigeria’s position as a reliable source of refined metals.

Driving Sustainability, Employment, and Economic Diversification

Speaking on this milestone, Neveah’s CEO, Mr. Ibidapo Lawal, highlighted the broader impact of the project. “This milestone is more than just production; it’s a glimpse into our future. We are not just recycling; we are redefining how Africa contributes to the global circular economy,” he stated.

The facility represents a multi-billion Naira investment aimed at bolstering both environmental sustainability and economic growth. It is projected to:

  • Process over 44,000 MT of aluminum and copper annually,

  • Generate more than $150 million in export earnings,

  • Create 500 direct jobs and over 6,000 indirect employment opportunities, and

  • Reduce carbon emissions by an estimated 377,000 tons each year.

These outcomes align closely with Nigeria’s vision to diversify its economy beyond oil while also embracing eco-friendly industrial practices.

Recognition on the Global Stage

Neveah’s rapid growth trajectory continues to earn international accolades. The company recently secured the top spot in the Metals & Mining category and ranked 21st overall on the Financial Times’ 2025 list of Africa’s Fastest-Growing Companies. This recognition underscores Neveah’s strategic foresight, operational excellence, and resilience in navigating a highly competitive industry.

Preparing for Full-Scale Production

With initial production successfully underway, Neveah is gearing up to transition to full-scale operations in the coming days. The plant’s advanced capabilities will enable it to transform scrap materials into export-ready, high-purity metals—thereby boosting Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings, driving local industrialisation, and advancing the global circular economy agenda.

As the company looks ahead, Neveah’s innovative approach promises not only to reshape Nigeria’s recycling landscape but also to set new standards for sustainable industrial growth across Africa.
