This achievement, he attributed primarily to concerted efforts in revitalizing the non-oil sector through comprehensive economic reforms.

During a meeting at the Presidential Villa with founding members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and The Buhari Organisation, led by former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, President Tinubu expressed optimism about the nation’s economic trajectory. “The economy is now stabilised,” he stated, emphasizing that the days of currency speculation for foreign exchange are behind Nigeria. “You do not need to know the CBN Governor, Yemi Cardoso, to obtain foreign exchange or import goods,” he added.

The President highlighted that the bulk of the revenue was generated from the non-oil sector, underscoring his administration’s focus on diversifying Nigeria’s economy. He reiterated the importance of building essential infrastructure, enhancing health facilities, ensuring food sovereignty, and bolstering national security as cornerstones of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a bid to further strengthen the agricultural sector, President Tinubu announced plans to establish agricultural mechanization centers across all regions of the country. “We are going to have trainees. That programme is our path to food sovereignty,” he noted, outlining a vision for expanding cultivation and harvest capacity.

Reflecting on his historical ties to the CPC, President Tinubu conveyed his gratitude to the members for their steadfast support throughout his political journey. “When I see people like you, I am determined to work harder,” he stated, assuring the delegation of his commitment to sustaining the legacies of former President Muhammadu Buhari with the establishment of a Buhari House. He also pledged to provide opportunities for more CPC members within his government.

In response to the President’s remarks, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, commended Tinubu for his leadership and inclusive approach towards political stakeholders, particularly in relation to the people of Katsina State.

Al-Makura, representing the CPC, expressed gratitude for President Tinubu’s involvement in the state funeral of President Buhari, acknowledging the comfort and reassurance his presence provided during the ceremony. He reaffirmed the group’s loyalty to Tinubu’s administration, stating, “We believe in your administration, and that will be our focus and commitment to ensure the success of our party and your ultimate victory in the 2027 elections.”

As Nigeria continues to navigate the complexities of its economic landscape, President Tinubu’s announcements signal a renewed sense of hope and direction, with an emphasis on collaboration and national progress.
