A Catholic priest, Emmanuel Ehioma, has urged individuals who watched the viral video of Comfort Emmanson on an Ibom Air flight more than once to seek confession. The priest warned that repeatedly viewing the footage crosses a moral boundary.
The video, which circulated on social media platform X, showed Emmanson hitting a flight attendant and confronting airport security. Following her behavior, Ibom Air imposed a travel ban on the passenger. Additional footage showed Emmanson being dragged off the plane with her clothes torn and partially exposed.
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has condemned the sharing of the unedited video and pledged to provide Emmanson with free legal aid to protect her rights and seek redress for the violations she experienced.
In his statement on Facebook, Father Ehioma noted that initial viewers of the video didn’t sin because they didn’t anticipate the content. However, he emphasized that rewatching the video equates to seeking gratification from viewing nude content. He expressed concern over people, including husbands, fathers, wives, and mothers, describing the woman’s exposed body parts in the video.
Father Ehioma concluded, “Kindly meet your Priest and confess to the Lord.”
