The Independence Day celebration with the children was one of a series of activities organized by the company across different states in Nigeria, as part of its broader commitment to nation-building.

As part of its programmes, the company shared gift packs, cut cakes, and inspired hundreds of students to dream bigger and work harder in their studies—reaffirming its commitment to raising a future generation of responsible leaders. The campaign was dedicated to Nigeria, celebrating 65 years of remarkable resilience, resolve, and relentless rise, with SPFL and Ibom Developers FZE employees also standing together to mark the moment by taking a pledge of commitment to national unity and progress.

At Ukpomete Secondary Technical School, Ete community, Ikot Abasi, the atmosphere was festive as students cheered while company representatives presented packages to them.

Vice Principal of the school, Mr. Udom Matthew Ufot, commended Ibom Developers FZE for identifying with the students on such a significant national day.

“This is a demonstration of love and care for the younger generation, and we deeply appreciate the company for remembering our children,” Mr. Ufot said.

Speaking on behalf of the student body, Head Girl Rejoice Monday and Head Boy Ezekiel Eno thanked Ibom Developers FZE for the gesture, noting that it challenged them to be more committed to their studies and to uphold patriotism.

The celebration also extended to Comprehensive High School, Ikonta and Obianga, where students cut cakes and received takeaway packages. Principal Mr. Eliel Sylvernus expressed gratitude, pointing out that the students had earlier prepared for a march-past at the local government headquarters before the event was cancelled nationwide.

Community Relations Officer of Ibom Developers FZE, Mr. Patrick Ukpong, encouraged the students to take their studies seriously and remain disciplined for the sake of their future.

Similarly, the company’s Community Development Programmes Coordinator, Ms. Grace Inyang, explained that buses had initially been arranged to convey students to the celebration venue, but following the cancellation of the official event, the company decided to take the festivities directly to the schools.

“Our aim is to ensure the children do not miss out on the joy of the Independence Day celebration. It is also to reassure them that their dreams are valid, and the future belongs to them,” Ms. Inyang said.

Beyond Independence Day, SPFL and Ibom Developers FZE continue to demonstrate their commitment to sustainable community development by supporting education, sports, healthcare initiatives, and youth empowerment programmes across host communities.

With cheers, cakes, and patriotic songs, the event left students across the two local government areas with renewed hope and a sense of belonging. SPFL and Ibom Developers FZE remain unwavering in their commitment to the development of communities, the empowerment of young people, and the advancement of Nigeria’s future.
