Tinubu Nominates New Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated a new Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, following the elevation of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda to the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement was made on Tuesday by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, who disclosed that Dr. Doro’s appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate. According to Onanuga, the President has already forwarded the nominee’s details to the upper chamber for consideration and approval.

Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro brings to the role over two decades of diverse professional experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community development. His career, which has straddled both the United Kingdom and Nigeria, has been marked by a strong record of service, innovation, and public engagement.

Dr. Doro’s nomination is seen as part of President Tinubu’s ongoing drive to assemble a team of seasoned professionals and technocrats capable of delivering on his administration’s agenda of economic renewal and social inclusion.
