The spokesman of the opposition coalition, Bolaji Abdullahi, has said that Peter Obi is still part of the coalition, even though he has not yet officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a card-carrying member.

In an interview with Channels Television, Abdullahi said that Obi has been involved with the coalition since the beginning and has attended almost all their meetings.
He explained that Obi asked for time to finish some important tasks in his current party, the Labour Party (LP), before fully joining ADC.
“Peter Obi has been part of the coalition from day one. Peter Obi has attended almost every meeting of the coalition,” Abdullahi stated.
He added that Obi’s delay in picking up the ADC membership card was not because he left the group but because of ongoing elections involving his supporters in LP.
According to Abdullahi, the same thing applies to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who also asked for time to complete election processes in his former party.
The coalition leadership agreed to give them time to finish their commitments before officially joining the ADC.
This means that while Peter Obi is not yet a full member of ADC, he is still very much part of the opposition coalition.
